Sir Brian May (78) will not be returning to the USA for the time being. The Queen guitarist did not make this decision lightly, he told the «Daily Mail». «America is currently a dangerous place, you have to take that into account», the British musician explained.

It makes him «very sad», he said, because he feels that Queen grew up in the USA – and the band loves the country. «But it’s no longer what it once was. At the moment, everyone thinks twice about going there.»

The two remaining Queen founding members Brian May and Roger Taylor (76) have been touring worldwide with former «American Idol» finalist Adam Lambert (44) as Queen & Adam Lambert since 2012. However, they have not performed on stage in the USA since 2023.May emphasized that they still love America, but the country has changed significantly since earlier tours. They currently do not consider a return to be safe. When the trio will perform together again is uncertain. «We’ll take it as it comes», May said.

Regarding new music, May did not want to commit, but hinted that there are «a few things you haven’t heard yet». He made no concrete announcements. Instead, he made it clear that now is the time to take a break and devote himself to family.

The now 78-year-old suffered a minor stroke in 2024 and temporarily lost the ability to move his left arm. He shared the frightening moment in a video on Instagram and revealed: «Suddenly, completely unexpectedly, I had no control over this arm at all», he said in the clip. «It was quite frightening, I have to say.»

On the ITV show «Love Your Weekend», the rock musician spoke openly about his health condition. «I was lucky. These things happen to me, but I always seem to be able to overcome them. They’re a wake-up call for you», he said. The experience inspired him to exercise more. «I stay active, ride my bike several times a week», May continued. «Once a week I swim a hundred laps in the pool. That’s what keeps me fit. That’s what keeps me alive.»
